Manager’s empowerment Why OPDI The very factor why concepts have not done any dramatic change in organizations is that we always expected technology to make our job easier and fast. What we never have done is to look at ourselves and ask a basic question as to whether the processes are good enough to support the technology. However these concepts are being underutilized and remained to be the area of consultancy and advisory. Why it is so? The users either by themselves or short of motivation are kept in the dark about the methodology used in studying and analyzing. The deficit is felt later while implementation takes place as the same is based on the documentation prepared by vendors/consultants as they have perceived and understood of the user organization. To create architecture it requires a convergent process design from the point of users, systems people and methodologists. This unified process documentation can provide a powerful base from where any architecture can take its roots. Yet another scenario is that many organizations either have implemented concepts/Technology by different vendors for different functions for the same organization or have gone for supply chain management solutions and some others through independent applications. All these have been done based on either through vendor driven analysis or by systems people leaving a gap of having clarity backed enterprise process documentation for the organization.
